August On the Farm

a Typical Daily Morning Meeting

Cafe Au Lait Dahlias & Salmon ~ Envy Zinnias and way in the back Figs...

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

I have been asked a couple times this week -- why am I so drawn to botanical medicine?
The quick answer that I have found myself saying, is that I have this intrinsic respect around these particular plants.
I feel myself reflected in them and awakened by them.
It feels like a deep relationship that began long before.  Perhaps when I was a plant.
I am drawn to the medicinal aspect as it is satisfying two loves, my love of deepening with people and with plants and being able to serve them both.  And to be able to connect these sun-light-beings with human-light-beings is a blessing, as the plant world reminds us of our wholeness and power and influence, rooted within each of us.
